Manufacturer's product description

Freestanding Transportable Bariatric System Recently, there has been a dramatic increase in the need for patient lifts for very heavy patients. With a lifting capacity of up to 1100 lbs. (500 kg), the freestanding system UltraTwin FreeSpan meets the highest demands. UltraTwin FreeSpan is a freestanding system, and since it is not affixed to the walls or the ceiling, there are no special strength requirements for those structures. The system is available in a range of different rail lengths for optimal adaptation to the size of the room. Thanks to a system with twin lift units that work together, UltraTwin not only lifts and transfers, it also helps you to position the patient in sitting, semi-reclining or horizontal positions. UltraTwin can be installed with two different spacings between rails: one for lifting in the sitting position and one for horizontal lifts. Lifting very heavy people requires special techniques and specially designed lift equipment. Our heavy-lifting accessories are available in several different models, all designed for lifting up to 1100 lbs. (500 kg.) UltraTwin FreeSpan is also available in a traverse version, enabling coverage of the entire area of the room with a single lift system. Contact us for more information.

MHRA field safety notice issued, Hill-Rom has become aware that the information in the instructions guide dated November 7th 2007 and earlier for FreeSpan Traverse and FreeSpan Ultra Twin Traverse use is not clear regarding the maximum overhang allowed for the systems. Users should read the field safety notice, check whether their sytem has an overhang and use the instructions attached to the field safety notice. Read the MHRA field safety notice
