I have to use crutches everyday due to a debilitating back condition complicated by Fibromyalgia,ME & Carpal tunnel syndrome. As my disabilities affect my neck, shoulders & hands, the crutches supplied by the NHS caused such pain in these areas that I became bed bound. I happened to see someone with Smart crutches while at a hospital appointment and as the website is printed on the side of the crutches,I looked the company up. They have a very informative website explaining the reasons behind the development of Smart crutches, how to use them depending on your condition/disability and they have a very clear instructional video. Smart crutches come in various sizes, singularly or as a pair, and in a wide variety of colours. They are easy to assemble, although I did need a hand putting the adhesive foam in place. I found them very easy to get used to,slowly adjusting the arm rests to the horizontal positions, and very comfortable thanks to the thick foam padding. The severe neck & shoulder pain I used to experience with NHS crutches has gone. So all in all an excellent purchase and at what I consider a very reasonable price. In fact I am planning on investing in another pair in a different colour!! One word of warning - you do get noticed when out and about using Smart crutches and people quite often comment on them!!(In a positive way) I hope this review has been of some assistance if you are considering buying Smart crutches.
