Walk-in baths with outward opening door

These baths are rounded, or tub-shaped with an outward opening door to the front and have an integral seat. They must be filled and emptied only when the door is firmly closed. They may be operated by the user, attendant or both. It is useful to consider if the user can step up into the bath; operate the door and lock; reach and operate the taps and plug controls; sit down and stand up from the integral bath seat. There should be sufficient leg room in the bath once the door is closed. Bathroom temperature should be considered for the duration of the filling and the emptying of the bath.
